感恩节 (Thanksgiving) and Rubrics

感恩节快乐 感恩节快乐 (Gǎn'ēn jié kuàilè | Happy Thanksgiving)! 感恩节 / Thanksgiving is such a special holiday to me because I love having the chance to reflect on all the people in my life who I’m thankful for. Three of those people are 温老师,许老师 and 萧老师. They are 3 dynamic teachers who I had the pleasure of hanging out with this past weekend at ACTFL. They had an unending source of fun activities like these Thanksgiving cards that they made in their Chinese language classrooms. I was blown away by the creativity of the cards that Henley Laoshi’s students created. Especially the one where the turkey says aiya bu de liao (哎呀不得了), before he ends up on the table for dinner! She said that it all boils down to sharing the rubric that you have. chinese thanksgiving card rubric Below is a copy of the rubric that she created for this activity. All of her students automatically just look at the 4s column and work to create a card that fulfills all of those criteria. What Thanksgiving activities do you do with your kids?
