China Earthquake Relief   Updated on Friday 5/16/2008

The 7.9 magnitude earthquake on May 12, 2008 has left China's Sichuan province in devastation. Recent reports account for 436,000 damaged properties, leading to 4.8 million people homeless. Tragically, "the official death toll now stands with 14,000 still buried," and the numbers continue to climb (www.CNN.com). The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) and the American Red Cross mobilized a relief operation immediately following the earthquake.
