Short, spoken dialogues and narratives based on everyday topics followed by 3
spoken responses or printed questions.
Usage and Reading sections - 40 minutes
Usage section:
selecting the answer that best completes the Chinese sentence. Answer choices
are displayed in 4 different ways of representing Chinese: Traditional,
Simplified, Phonetic Pinyin and Chinese Phonetic Alphabet (Bopomofo).
Reading Comprehension section:
Usage section:
This section tests students understanding of main and supporting ideas, themes,
setting of passages, etc, based on real-life materials such as advertisements,
letters, diaries, newspaper articles, forms, and timetables. All reading
comprehension questions are in English.
Scoring:
Total score - 200 to 800 scale
Listening, Usage, and Reading Comprehension subscores - 20 to 80 scale
